Position Overview

We’re looking for a world-class Director of Marketing who has already helped build and scale a consumer brand in the grooming, personal care, or lifestyle CPG space. This role is for someone who combines strategic horsepower with hands-on marketing execution, and knows how to manage both creative direction and performance-driven growth.

 

You’ll lead all marketing functions—from positioning and product launches to paid acquisition, content, retention, and community. You’ll also expand our footprint through CTV streaming campaigns, influencer partnerships, podcast advertising, and deeper brand storytelling.

 

This is an on-site leadership role in Holly Ridge, NC, and reports directly to the CEO. 

Key Responsibilities 

🧭  Brand Strategy and Leadership 

Own the evolution of the Johnny Slicks brand across every touchpoint: site, content, packaging, email, and beyond 

Build a brand that resonates with modern masculine identity—while maintaining our voice, values, and mission 

Develop the annual and quarterly marketing roadmap, aligned to product drops, retail expansion, and community growth

📈  Multi-Channel Growth Marketing

Lead paid media strategy across Meta, Google, YouTube, TikTok, and more—driving efficiency in CAC, LTV, and ROAS 

Manage and expand email/SMS retention flows using Klaviyo and Postscript 

Incorporate emerging media channels including: 

CTV (Connected TV and Streaming) 

Podcast advertising 

Influencer and affiliate partnerships 

🎥  Content and Creative 

Oversee internal and external creative teams producing UGC, photography, video, landing pages, and paid ads 

Build a content engine that aligns with our customers’ values, habits, and daily rituals 

Ensure messaging is consistent across product launches, campaigns, email, and packaging

🛠  Product Marketing and Campaign Execution 

Drive full lifecycle campaign execution for product drops, seasonal launches, and retail initiatives

Align marketing with inventory and fulfillment to ensure seamless product delivery and customer experience 

Monitor feedback loops to improve product education, reduce friction, and increase conversion

👥  Team and Agency Leadership 

Hire, lead, and mentor a team of marketers, designers, content creators, and media buyers 

Manage agency and vendor relationships with clear accountability and performance tracking

Establish a culture of discipline, performance, and ownership aligned with Johnny Slicks' values

You’re a Fit If You Have… 

7+ years in a senior marketing leadership role, preferably within men’s grooming, skincare, personal care, or lifestyle CPG

A proven track record of scaling a DTC brand to 8-figures or beyond

Strong command of performance marketing, funnel building, retention strategies, and omnichannel execution

Experience managing campaigns across CTV, podcasts, influencers, email, SMS, and social

A clear understanding of how to build lifestyle brands that lead cultural conversations while staying profitable

Experience working in on-site, high-performance teams, ideally within fast-growing or founder-led companies
